FOOD IS MY BREAD & BUTTER

One of my very favorite parts of spending time with families postpartum is getting to cook nourishing & healing food. Food is a beautiful, tangible way to love and care for people, and it is vital in recovering your body from the vulnerability of giving birth.

With traditional postpartum meals like Congee (Chinese rice porridge) or Kitchari, as well as familiar Western feel-good meals like chicken noodle soup or oats, I will always prioritize cooking foods that serve your body well; additionally, I like to prioritize eliminating single use plastic whenever possible. Finally, I favor ingredients that are in season and available locally (helloooo farmers markets of the Grand Valley!)
